01 - Professionalism in the Age of AI

As artificial intelligence tools become increasingly integrated into actuarial work, actuaries are faced with new questions that go beyond technical competence. What does professionalism look like when AI is involved? How do existing standards—particularly ASOPs and the Code of Professional Conduct—apply to work that incorporates machine learning models or generative AI? What do we need to think about outside the current written standards? This session steps back from the technical details and takes a critical look at the evolving role of actuaries and consultants in an AI-enabled environment.

02 - Upholding Standards: Code of Conduct in Action

This session will cover several challenging professionalism scenarios using an interactive format with audience polling, and a mix of role-playing and presentation formats. The focus will be on applications of the Code of Professional Conduct along with ASOPs, ABCD and others as applicable. The scenarios will include background on the issue, potential precepts or other considerations that may apply, audience polling on potential outcomes, and panelist discussion regarding which outcomes may or may not be correct (recognizing that there may not always be a truly correct outcome).

03 - Paper Trails & Professionalism: Why Documentation Matters for Consulting Actuaries

Consulting actuaries juggle complex projects, client expectations, and the demands of ever-evolving standards—often under tight deadlines and high scrutiny. In this webinar, the presenters will explore why robust documentation is not just a compliance requirement but a hallmark of actuarial professionalism across all practice areas. Attendees will gain practical insights into: • The actuarial standards that reference documentation requirements • How clear, consistent documentation protects both the actuary and the client • Real-world examples of how documentation has led to professional challenges and successes • Exercising professional judgement in creating documentation • Techniques and tools to facilitate documentation
