A Message From Your President

Light Bulb Moments

I recently connected with newer CCA member Catherine Ochalek to hear about her journey into actuarial consulting and what led her to the Conference of Consulting Actuaries. What stood out most was how her background as a high school math teacher continues to shape her approach — especially her commitment to turning complex actuarial concepts into clear, meaningful conversations. Catherine sees client interactions not as presentations, but as teaching moments where understanding builds trust. Her story is a powerful reminder that the best consultants combine technical expertise with curiosity, clarity, and the ability to create those “light bulb” moments that make our work truly impactful.
