2019 CCA Annual Meeting Update - JW Marriott Establishes Wait List

We hope that you are planning to join over 500 of your colleagues at the CCA Annual Meeting in San Antonio. Due to record-breaking attendance, the JW Marriott is currently utilizing a wait list for additional hotel reservations. To add your name to the wait list, please contact the CCA office at conference@ccactuaries.org or 847-719-6500 with your name, phone number, e-mail address, and dates of arrival and departure. We are forwarding all requests as they arrive to the Marriott’s reservations department, and they will contact individuals on a first-come/first-served basis as additional rooms become available.

While we expect many people on the list to receive reservations as we get closer to the meeting, we cannot guarantee that everyone on the list will receive a reservation. For that reason we are providing a list of alternative hotels near the JW Marriott San Antonio so you can secure alternative arrangements. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we expect the 2019 CCA Annual Meeting to be one you won't want to miss.

Message From the CCA President

How many letters can I put after my name?

If you’re like me, you probably belong to more than one professional organization that affords you the ability to put letters representing a level of education and training after your name. I place the CCA letters first, not because I’m President of the CCA (I placed them first long before I was voted into this role), but because of what the letters signify to those that rely on our advice including our employers and our clients.

The FCA or ACA designations tell the world we’ve gained a meaningful and relevant perspective from industry leaders that can’t be obtained through training insulated from organizations outside our own employer or through self-study. Our participation in the CCA helps us become leaders and elevates our company’s exposure through a platform for sharing ideas and expertise.

Our members continue to tell us we are hitting the mark on our educational content and that they value our community where everyone counts and you can find strength in numbers. That’s a strong value proposition for what a membership in the CCA means.

I’d like to hear about what the FCA or ACA designations mean to you. Please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with me.

Edward M. Pudlowski, FCA
President
