Jeff Gavlick Vice President, Product Development and Management — Stop Loss and Organ Transplant AIG Benefit Solutions Jeff Gavlick has profit and loss responsibilities for the Stop Loss, Organ Transplant and Captive products within AIG Benefit Solutions. In this role, he oversees and directs market research for these products; reviews pricing decisions; coordinates with the underwriting, claims and product development teams; and ensures that appropriate attention is provided to all aspects of the products Prior to joining AIG Benefit Solutions in 2012, Jeff was a Principal and Consulting Actuary with Mercer Health & Benefits, where he provided group actuarial, employee benefits, retiree medical, client management and strategic consulting services to employers. He also was involved in strategic planning; plan design development and pricing; liability valuation; and financial analysis and forecasting for medical, dental, life, disability, wellness flex, and stop loss programs. Over the course of his 19-year career at Mercer, Jeff served as Northeast Zone Leader of Mercer’s Actuarial & Financial Group, National Leader of the Stop Loss Committee, National Stop Loss Purchasing Coalition Leader, and led the development of Mercer’s MedForecast™ Model, a strategic forecasting tool that models the implications of basic and advanced health cost management strategies over a five-year period. Prior to joining the Mercer organization in 1993 (when it was named A. Foster Higgins), Jeff worked for five years as a Director and Actuary with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Indianapolis, and he started his career as an Associate Actuary with American Health & Life in Baltimore. Jeff received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Wilkes College (now Wilkes University) in Wilkes-Barre, Penn.
