Melissa is a Director in the New York Health Services group at Buck, where her clients are large U.S. corporations in all sectors, including high-tech and finance as well as governmental entities. Melissa also has significant U.S. retirement and Global Consulting experience where her clients were primarily large fortune 500 U.S. multinationals and medium-sized single-employer and multiemployer companies. Experience: Melissa has over 13 years of consulting experience in the US and Global retirement sector (US and non-US single and multiemployer retirement plans), as well as in health services. Melissa currently assists her clients in all facets of actuarial valuations for post-retirement medical and life plans including the project management aspect of these projects. She is also heavily involved with retiree medical and life plan redesign projects, the Medicare Part D bidding process and IBNR reserving for health insurers. Her global projects consisted of year-end accounting consolidation in conjunction budget expense projections under US GAAP and IFRS. Melissa was also heavily involved in the production of the in-house software used by Buck which was developed for these purposes. On the US domestic front, Melissa has worked with medium-sized single-employer and multiemployer companies in the US on various areas including plan terminations, plan amendments, benefit certifications, determining funding valuation results under U.S. funding rules. Prior to Buck, Melissa worked as a Global Consultant in the New York Global Consulting Group at Willis Towers Watson and the New York International Consulting Group at Mercer. Education and Achievements: • B.A. degree from Concordia University of Montreal, Canada with specialization in Actuarial Mathematics (with distinction) • Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (FCA) • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) • Enrolled Actuary (EA) • Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
