Scott Hittner is a pension consulting actuary and chief actuary of October Three Consulting LLC. In this role, Scott leads his firm’s technical resource group, and is responsible for establishing the firm’s actuarial policies and procedures. He believes, now more than ever, private defined benefit pension plans play a vital role in providing retirement income security for Americans. Scott is committed to helping businesses understand the value that DB plans provide to an organization and in managing the risks associated with these plans. Scott has over 25 years of experience as a consulting actuary specializing in pension and other postemployment benefit plans. He has a diverse background, having worked for both large and small organizations with clients of varying sizes and industries. Prior to joining October Three, Scott was a member of the technical leadership team at Aon Hewitt and held similar positions at JPMorgan and CCA Strategies. Scott is currently serving the Conference of Consulting Actuaries as a member of the Board of Directors since 2013 and has served on the Annual Meeting Planning Committee since 2003. He is a member of the Pension Committee of the American Academy of Actuaries and previously served on the Pension Section Council of the Society of Actuaries. Scott has a B.S. in actuarial science from the University of Nebraska.
