Phil Merdinger is a Partner in Mercer’s Atlanta office and has been with Mercer since 1978. His current responsibilities include consulting with employers on ways to more effectively manage compensation and benefit programs domestically and internationally, and improve alignment of human resources strategy with business goals. He also consults on merger/acquisition issues. Phil’s clients cover a broad range of industries, including consumer products, financial services, retail and transportation. He leads Mercer’s Retail Industry Group – a team of Mercer consultants responsible for creating and sharing intellectual capital within Mercer specific to the retail industry. Phil holds a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Mathematics from the University of Michigan, where he also completed graduate studies. He is a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA. Phil sits on the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce’s Regional Education Policy Committee, where he co-chaired the HR Effectiveness Subcommittee. He served as President of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries in 2015.
