John D. Shatto, FSA is the Director of the Medicare and Medicaid Cost Estimates Group in the Office of the Actuary at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). He leads a group of senior actuaries responsible for determining short- and long-range projections of Medicare and Medicaid expenditures. This group is also tasked with assessing the financial impact of proposed changes to these programs. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Elizabethtown College.
