Chief Policy Actuary and Director of the Policy, Research and Analysis Department (PRAD), Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (Employed January 1981)

The Director of PRAD is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and program direction as it applies to: coordinating and administering the formulation of Corporate policy; evaluation of PBGC’s programs and policies; ensuring that new or revised policies are consistent with overall Corporate objectives and Title IV of Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA); conducting extensive research and analyses of program, financial, and actuarial issues; determining the need for regulations in conjunction with the Legislative and Regulatory Departments and other affected and developing Departments; forecasting financial/fiscal events and developing interest rates for PBGC program regulations; developing consistent actuarial principles, policies and procedures, and conducting the annual actuarial evaluation; and providing information/responses to inquiries regarding the interpretation and implementation of Corporate policies and regulations.
