Joseph F. Hicks, Jr., FCA, MAAA is a Principal and consulting actuary in the Philadelphia office of The Savitz Organization. He has over 18 years of experience assisting clients design, administer, fund, and communicate employee benefit plans. As the firm’s multiemployer practice leader, he specializes in Pension Protection Act of 2006 compliance, withdrawal liability calculations, and funding strategies and projections for multiemployer funds. He also provides consulting to a number of single-employer defined benefit plans.

Joe is a frequent meeting presenter and has spoken at the Enrolled Actuaries, the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, the Society of Actuaries, and the International Foundation’s Annual Conference meetings. Joe also serves on the Conference of Consulting Actuaries Annual Planning Meeting Committee. He is a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
