Scott D. Miller is a Principal of Actuarial Consulting Group, Inc., an employee benefits consulting firm.

With over thirty years of experience in the employee benefits and compensation consulting field, Mr. Miller is a Fellow of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Certified Pension Consultant and an Enrolled Actuary.

Mr. Miller has served as the President for the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). He is currently a member of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries’ Committee on Professionalism and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries’ Council on Professionalism. He has served as the Chair of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries Committee for Smaller Actuarial Consulting Firms and as a member of the American Academy of Actuaries’ Board of Directors. In addition, he previously served as Treasurer, Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of ASPPA, General Chairman of ASPPA’s Education and Examination Committee, and Chairman of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries Pension Education and Research Foundation, Inc.

Mr. Miller was appointed by the White House to be a delegate to the 2006 National Summit on Retirement Savings, joining a diverse group of expert private and public sector professionals and U.S. legislators. In addition, Mr. Miller has testified before the U.S. Department of Labor ERISA Advisory Council on 401(k) plan issues and he has testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee on retirement security and defined benefit pension plans.

Mr. Miller is a local and national lecturer on pension, actuarial and employee benefits topics, Co-author of the 2012 Pension Distribution Answer Book published by Wolters Kluwer Law & Business and an editor of two actuarial textbooks published by ASPPA.
